Assistantships for Tenor & Bass Trombonists (MM & DMA) are also available through the School of Music & Graduate College. Recipients for these competitive awards are selected based on academic record, skill set, and needs within the School of Music.

Graduate Applications need to be completed by December 1, 2020 for optimal consideration for assistantships and admission to the Fall 2021 semester.

Preliminary Pre-Screened Audition. Applicants need to upload recordings to Acceptd no later than December 1, 2020.

Recordings must include selections from the etudes, solos, and excerpts provided below. Solo repertoire should be recorded without piano. No editing within a piece, but it is not necessary to record all material in one take.

Applicants will be selected from the pre-screened recordings to play a virtual live audition for the Brass Faculty via Zoom early in 2021(see above for possible dates). For the live audition, candidates should prepare new repertoire (2 contrasting solo selections & excerpts). There will also be sight-reading.
