Assistantships for Tenor & Bass Trombonists (MM & DMA) are available through the School of Music & Graduate College. Recipients for these competitive awards are selected based on academic record, skill set, and needs within the School of Music.

To receive full consideration, Graduate Applications and Preliminary Pre-Screened Audition need to completed and uploaded no later than December 1, 2022.

Pre-Screened Recordings should include 2 solo selections (with piano if the piece calls for it), 1 etude, and 3 standard orchestral excerpts. Suggestions are provided below. Requests for consideration of different repertoire should be directed to jbynum@uga.edu

No editing within a piece, but it is not necessary to record all material in one take. Video is preferred, but not mandatory.

Applicants will be selected from the pre-screened recordings to play a live audition for the Brass Faculty in January 2023 (see above for dates).
For the live audition, candidates can prepare new repertoire (2 contrasting solo selections & excerpts). There will also be sight-reading. Live accompaniment at the live audition is not required.
